The Journalists Association “Novomedia” 

"The transformation of media returns the transformation of nation"

 

The Novomedia Association is the all-Ukrainian non-governmental journalistic organization. It was founded in 2004 on the initiative of journalist Ruslan Kukharchuk. The Association unites Christian journalists and other creative stuff of different media in two common ways: spiritual unity and professional interests.

For today, Novomedia  Association  includes about 200 members from secular and Christian media and has representatives in the majority of regions of Ukraine. There are also members of the community in Russian Federation, USA and Canada.

The Novomedia Association - as part of the Public Council under the Ministry of Information Policy

May 25 at the Ministry of Information Policy was of the Constituent Assembly with the formation of a new Public Council. Association of Journalists "Novomedia" came of it.

Media conference #novomedia17 gathered 170 participants from four countries.

At the end of March and the beginning of April, media representatives from four countries gathered to attend the training conference "Television, radio, social media and PR". The event at Khreschatik Hotel in Kiev was organized by The Journalists Association “Novomedia” (Ukraine) and MEDIAllianceInternational (USA). Hashtag #novomedia17 has actually became an unofficial name of the event.

On January 2016 was published the second edition of the book "A New Journalist. How to master media profession." 20 actual media themes, 15 authors, 4 visual applications, 2 bonus interviews with famous TV broadcasters. All this within 224 pages. 15 experienced in media journalists had worked over the creation of the book "A New Journalist".

Ukrainian journalists visited Israel – the political and Christian one

The Novomedia Tour to Israel by invitation of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held on 18-22th of December, 2016. The eight participants of the tour met with the Ministry officials, members of the Knesset and leaders of Christian organizations. Besides, last day the journalists had a chance to unofficially communicate with Zvi Magen, the first Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine and the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Absorption Prof. Zeev Hanin.

Head of The Novomedia Association visited the Media Leadership Summit in Dallas

The International Media Leadership Summit held in Dallas from 8th to 14th of October. It gathered about thirty Christian leaders of media companies. Summit organized by MEDIAlliance International (President - Ron Harris). The base location for all events became Dallas Baptist University.

Speakers of the event are respected and experienced specialists in the field of television, radio, social media, marketing, theology and modern culture. Including Phil Cooke, Jim Denison, ony Evans, Bob Lepine, Adam Wright and others.

Ruslan Kukharchuk held a meeting with Mark Galli at Headquarters of Christianity Today

From 5th to 15th of August the President of The Novomedia Association Ruslan Kukharchuk was in the US with a working visit. He participated at the Global Leadership Summit in Chicago in the church Willow Creek (pastor - Bill Haybels). Approximately 10,000 leaders from around the world gathered for two days to take part in a key annual event.

Novomedia Forum 2016: professional skills and Gospel truths

Annual Novomedia Forum held in Kiev on 4-5th of November, 2016. More than three hundred journalists and mediaworkers from all over of Ukraine and the 30 best speakers assembled for professional communication. One of the main purposes of the event is to unite the efforts of Christian journalists and media for dissemination and promotion of Christian values and evangelical postulates.

Novomedia Staff Changes

We would like to inform you that as of July 1st, 2016, Tatyana Pinchuk is leaving administrator’s position with the Novomedia Association. After much thought, she made this decision in order to focus more time on her journalism work. 

Tatyana started working at Novomedia in January 2007, so she has been with us for roughly 9.5 years. In her position, not only did she focus her efforts to ensure smooth daily operations, but also took a key role in the organization’s most known projects: Novomedia Forum, Novomedia Weekend, New Journalist School, and MediaLand. 

Media Weekend 2016 – three in one: fellowship, training and rest!

Three-day Novomedia Weekend that was held in Obukhov complex ended. The event gathered about 50 participants. Among them one could find the representatives of press centers, churches, media workers of secular and religious mass media as well as the students of Journalism Departments.The program of the Weekend was rich and diverse. Novomedia conducted Children’s Media Content Conference “Medialand”

On April, 23-24 Novomedia Association conducted an annual Children’s Media Content Conference “Medialand”. The young media workers as well as the adults attended the event. It is a reminder that “Medialand” presents media content territory that is safe and useful for children. On the event we paid attention to all kinds of children’s mass media. We talked with Semen Kremenyuk, a blogger and co-author of KEDRR.com Project about the safety on the Internet and the possibilities it provides.
