Around 40 Christian media professionals set aside their jobs for two days to participate in the study course TV Production and Media Management taught by experienced speakers from the United States. The event was organized by NovoMedia Association jointly with MediaIliance International and took place in downtown Kyiv on May 25-26.
Among the participants were media workers: journalists, stage directors, editors, producers and videotape operators.
Despite the years of professional experience under the participants’ belt, they found a lot of useful tips in the speakers’ presentations. For instance, from the seminars by Stan Jeter, Senior Producer at CBN News TV channel, the delegates learned the particulars of TV news journalism abroad. Based on his broad experience, Stan shared his recommendations on how make news reports convincing and memorable, how to record excellent interviews and how to produce engaging TV stories.

Particularly, using various types of equipment he brought with him, Mark demonstrated techniques to resort to in extreme circumstances. His seminars were held in the framework of TV Production section.
The parallel section on Media Management featured two other outstanding speakers. For one of them, the President of MEDIAlliance International Ron Harris, it is the second visit to Ukraine.
As a president of the said organization, Ron works to connect Christian broadcasters in the U.S. and across the globe. That is why his speech was mainly focused on how to enhance the influence of Christian broadcasting. He also shared his recommendations on effective organization branding, reputation management as well as commitment to high professional standards and excellence in media production. Another topic important for media managers was how to motivate the personnel and how to recruit volunteers.
Another distinguished speaker in the Media Management section was Kurt Menzel. One of the top consultants on leadership and management with over 35 years of experience shared valuable advice on strategic planning. His seminars were aimed at helping the participants to reach their highest possible level of productivity and influence.
All the sessions were moderated and summarized by Ruslan Kukharchuk, media manager, President of NovoMedia Association. After the course, the delegates received certificates of completion. They thanked the speakers and exchanged contacts with a view to further partnership. Organizers believe that the course contributed to the development of high quality Christian media production.
