The Journalists Association “Novomedia” 

"The transformation of media returns the transformation of nation"

 

The Novomedia Association is the all-Ukrainian non-governmental journalistic organization. It was founded in 2004 on the initiative of journalist Ruslan Kukharchuk. The Association unites Christian journalists and other creative stuff of different media in two common ways: spiritual unity and professional interests.

For today, Novomedia  Association  includes about 200 members from secular and Christian media and has representatives in the majority of regions of Ukraine. There are also members of the community in Russian Federation, USA and Canada.


Official Statement by Novomedia Association on Journalists’ Activity during Protests in Ukraine

International non-governmental organization “Novomedia Journalists Association” declares its solidarity with all media workers who faithfully and competently perform their professional duties when covering protests in Kiev and other cities of Ukraine.

We condemn any unlawful violence against journalists.

We reiterate that according to the Criminal Code of Ukraine, preventing lawful professional activity of journalists is classified as a criminal offence.

We urge competent authorities to ensure thorough investigation of each and every case of physical aggression against the press and impose proper sanctions on the guilty through judicial means.

We call journalists to closely observe personal safety precautions.
