The Journalists Association “Novomedia” 

"The transformation of media returns the transformation of nation"

 

The Novomedia Association is the all-Ukrainian non-governmental journalistic organization. It was founded in 2004 on the initiative of journalist Ruslan Kukharchuk. The Association unites Christian journalists and other creative stuff of different media in two common ways: spiritual unity and professional interests.

For today, Novomedia  Association  includes about 200 members from secular and Christian media and has representatives in the majority of regions of Ukraine. There are also members of the community in Russian Federation, USA and Canada.


In November, the Ukrainian House Will Host International Novomedia Forum

On November 15-17, 2013 the Ukrainian House in Kyiv will be hosting International Novomedia Forum, the major media platform in the nation.

The participants will be presented with a diverse and intensive program: over 40 speakers, panel discussions, exhibitions, roundtables, talk shows, presentations, and a brand new Novomedia project – Journalism Career Fair. The central priority of the forum is advocating for high professional standards and Christian values in journalism.

Television panel will be represented by chief editors of mainstream channels, TV hosts and reporters. Moreover, for the first time in the Forum history, the event will feature photographers from the leading publications. Special attention will be devoted to the legal aspects of journalism and children’s media.

Is there a future for printed media and what are the prospects of this sector? How to create a successful online publication and utilize the new tools offered by YouTube? What is infographics? How to measure the impact of the social media on today’s society? These are just a few of the questions top media professionals will address during the Forum.

A special part of the program will be devoted to Novomedia Awards ceremony aimed at acknowledging and rewarding the authors of the best TV, radio, and printed content that promote timeless values. Prize winners will be identified in the nominations two: “Consistent Coverage of Timeless Values” and “Responsible Journalism.” During the Forum, Novomedia Association will also present its recently released study guide “The New Journalist. Mastering the Media Profession.”

International Novomedia Forum is an annual meeting of media professionals in Kyiv. It is a unique communication platform for media workers both from Ukraine and across the region. The Forum brings together representatives of secular and religious media. Top professionals from various sectors of journalism – television, radio, internet, newspapers and magazines – will come together for networking and expertise exchange.

This is the third annual Forum organized by Novomedia Association in the extended international format. In 2011, the event was attended by media workers from 10 countries across the world. In 2012, the Forum featured 45 key media speakers. The motto of the event is “New Media and Timeless Values.”
