Association "Novomedia" invites to participate in the discussion on the subject: "Hate speech: transformation of the definition and possible consequences". The event will be held on Wednesday, December 6, in Kyiv.

The discussion is devoted to the problems of protecting freedom of speech in the context of introducing the concept of "hate speech" in the information and legal field of Ukraine. There is now a certain conflict between the concept of "hate speech" and the free expression of their views in terms of critique of actions or behavioral models. This tendency has such signs that are contrary to democratic values ​​and encroach on freedom of speech.

Specialists, scholars, public figures, civil servants, parliamentarians are invited to participate in the event.

Topics of  discussion:

- how the meaning of the concept of "hate speech" has changed as an example of the legislation of European countries;

- identification of positive effects and possible threats;

- search for a balanced model for adapting Ukrainian legislation to the international one.
