In the evening of November 4th, the Novomedia Awards ceremony took place in the complex Nivki-hall. Journalists and editors received awards for competent coverage of Christian values in their materials. The event gathered more than two hundred guests.
The ceremony was conducted by Olga Nemtseva, she is a TV presenter on the "2 + 2" channel, and Eduard Glyoza, he is a TV presenter on the "First Business" channel. The legendary journalist and radio presenter on the BBC Russian Service, Seva Novgorodtsev, pleased the public with his musical talent – playing the flute and guitar. Also Ukrainian singer, winner of the competition Voice of the Country 4 – Igor Grochotsky made a solo performance of the songs. And the evening was diluted from the female voice of the finalist of the Voice of the country project, Vira Kekelia.
Seven laureates were chosen for the award. Conditionally divided them into three groups: Christian values on television, print media and Internet publications.
Oleg Havrysh and Andriy Yukhymenko received their reward for the special issue of the "First Spalt" program on the channel UA:Pershiy, devoted to the Christian faith of Ukrainian entrepreneurs. Also in the television sector, journalist Christina Havrysh and her report on ICTV channel about visit of Nick Vujicic to Ukraine; for citing the words about faith in God and Holy Bible.
The Ukrinform agency and Lana Samokhvalova were rewarded for the regular preparation and publication of materials on topics of faith, spirituality and the life of churches. "I am glad that I was on the list of laureates at the Novomedia Awards ceremony, an event with a tangible Christian paradigm awarding the rewards for the non-modest non-profit journalism of eternal values... Incidentally, when Timothy Nagorny handed me a statuette (this is our Ukrinform award), he said, who is happy that the state news agency, speaking in seven languages, knows the eighth – the language of love... Having reviewed those whom the forum rewarded earlier, I understood how independent this selection is and how honored it is for me to be on this list" – write is on her page in Facebook Lana Samokhvalova.
Among the print media, Anastasiya Yevdokimova noted that "When faith is acting" in the online magazine The Ukrainians; for coverage of the social ministry of the priests. Yevgeny Savvatjeev and Bohdan Kinaschuk received a reward for the material "Faith during the war. How the conflict in the Donbass changed the Protestant Church" on the multimedia platform "Hromads`ke".
And Olga Skorokhod became the winner of the award in an interview with the chairman of the Union of Churches of the Evangelist Christians Baptists of Ukraine Valery Antonyuk in the Internet publication "Censor.NET" about the life and ministry of evangelical Christian communities in Ukraine. She writes on her page in the FB: "This is my first journalist award! It is twice as pleasant to note that interview. After all, reflections on the life of religious communities and the spiritual development of society in general are stereotyped as unreadable. Extremely pleased to be in the company of the remaining six laureates, whose materials, as a balm for the soul – about faith in God and good activities."
Among the print media, the Novomedia Association has noted the newspaper "Dzerkalo Tyzhnia" and journalist Alla Kotlyar. It was there that they published the material "Faith of Zoya Beregova" and provided a newspaper box for the gospel message.
To award awards, journalists, scientists, artists, clerics and public figures were invited to the laureates. For example, among them were Fedir Raichinets, head of the Department of Theology at the Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary, Timothy Nagorny – philanthropist and president of the Volunteer Foundation of Ukraine, Natalka Karp - singer, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Seva Novgorodtsev, journalist and radio presenter on the BBC Russian Service, Ruslan Kukharchuk – President of the Novomedia Association, Igor Grochotsky – Ukrainian singer, winner of the Voice of the 4 contest.
Ruslan Kukharchuk, chairman of the Novomedia Awards organizing committee, said: "We have been celebrating the 5th anniversary. And now we can state that the quantity and quality of media materials in the context of Christian values has increased significantly. We will not dwell on honoring responsible journalists and editors."
We remind you that Novomedia Awards will be running in 2012. This is an annual awarding ceremony for journalists for competent coverage of Christian and family values. And traditionally, Novomedia Awards is the final block of the annual Novomedia Forum. Throughout the year, experts from the Novomedia Association are investigating Ukraine's media space and marking journalists and editors in several thematic nominations.
