Feedback from participants of International Novomedia Forum 2011

news:

The Novomedia Association is getting ready in advance. Active preparation for one of the most important events of the organization is the International Novomedia Forum, which is going to be held in Kiev, November 2-4. More than 400 delegates from all over the place are expected to visit the Forum this time.
Like last year, a wide range of different people and professions will be among participants such as: media people, journalists, religious and secular media workers, Christian missionaries, press service workers, churches and social organizations, students, and all who are willing to join.
The main task of the event is the integration of the eternal values of the mass media.  Since the main goal for us is the Gospel and promoting Christian values through the media, Forum of the Novomedia Association opened up the door not only for the media people, but also for anyone interested in healthy informational environment. Forum has become a platform for discussing various strategies, spiritual, and professional issues. We believe that all who will attend the second International Forum from Novomedia Association will find something useful and important for themselves.

Here are some feedbacks from the participants of the International Novomedia Forum 2011

Oleg Dovbysh, the head of the press center of the "East-European Leadership Forum" (Kiev, Ukraine):

“The time we living in characterized by an overabundance of information. Learn how to navigate in the informational space, to find its position, to place clear priorities at the work, to improve professional skills, all that and even more can be found at the annual Novomedia Forum.

This is a platform not only for professional growth, but also for communication and exchange of experience among media people, Christians, people of good will, those who dedicated themselves to a "written word." I’m very grateful for the consolidation of the efforts of many experts who attended the Forum. The workshops from famous speakers were really interesting.  In particular I felt unity and friendly atmosphere which is so important for a journalist. Special Thanks to the work of the Novomedia Association.  Many Christian media workers were able to reach a new personal level of professionalism. This is really important in shaping the image of Christian Media in general.”

Alya Yakovuk, correspondent of the newspaper "Panorama" (Kishinev, Moldova):

"I am secular journalist who writes on different themes, took all kind of ideas and themes for my future materials. At the seminar dedicated to the topic of Christianity in the media, it was pleased to be with people who understand me. Such conferences are very useful, because communication, exchange of experiences and networking are always needed. But in our country it is very difficult to write about faith and religion. So I would like to get more practical knowledge for work as such."

Oksana Tupalskaya correspondent TVi (Kiev, Ukraine):

"I think most of the journalists who are working in traditional media are aware that the policy of the church and society are very closely related.  That’s why they are willing to cover issues of morality of the church, which they advocate. However, not everyone is a journalist, even a believer and many people have not enough knowledge to report the news accurately. That’s why there is a need for a special site, where representatives of the church, journalists can meet up for discussing, asking each other tough questions, and seeking understanding. After all, we all want the media to be honest, serving the community and helping people, who read listen and watch.  At the Forum last year that kind of meeting was very prolific. Another useful thing: it is a meeting of colleagues working in different media, where each of them have great experience but do not have time to share with it. And communication of experts is what motivates and open the new ideas, not just for religious projects, but also for social and political projects as well. This is very useful. "

Irina Lazurkevich, 3rd year student.  Faculty of journalism of Lviv National University of Ivan Franko (Lviv, Ukraine):

"I’m always festinated how effective are such events as Novomedia Forum.” First of all, it is unique form of communication and exchange of experience of people who are united by ideological and occupational factors. The program of the forum is constructed in such a way to contribute to the spiritual and professional development of participants. Second, the fact of holding such an event has a massive social influence, for the foundation of a healthy relationship in the system called society, church and the media. And third, the whole uniqueness of the Novomedia Forum is that initially it was planned not as a single event. First International Novomedia Forum has the slogan: "New Media and eternal values". It revealed to the participants the current situation; it also showed the real problem, and set specific goals. The Second International Novomedia Forum called "Professional Jump" is created not to keep us satisfied with only theoretical material.  It is a motivator, a push, and a chance that we can’t lose! And more! Novomedia Forum is a family! You will be loved, valued, supported here.

And this is can’t be ignored! ".

Sergei Kundel, videographer, photographer (Kiev, Ukraine):

"I see Novomedia Forum as a professional encounter of highly intelligent and at the same time ordinary people and there are a lot to learn. Therefore, I decided to be here this year, especially since the organizers asked for help. Together we will find the right solutions how to change this world for the better."
